Death Remains are a five piece Metal core act from London. The band released a four track EP called “A Thousand Lives”.
Sure, the Core bands are quite active recently and at some point you wonder if a band has much more to offer than all the others do? Death Remains is a typical band that does not really stick in mind. Why? Well it certainly has not that much to do with the skills. The band has decent guitarists, a drummer who does not stand behind and a vocalist who brings quite ok vocals. Could have been a bit deeper to really make an impact. It is more that this band has quite standard compositions. Often they choose the expectable way and none of the four tracks on this EP is really bringing that passion on towards the listener. Give a little of the blame on that to the production, there it could be much to get for a future release, but the band must find a way to make themselves stand out in some way.
“A Thousand Lives” is a bit disappointing, but unfortunately not above average. The EP is good for collectors, but not for finding your next favourite band.
