Callous – Against Foundations

Callous is a British formation. They came with their debut album and now release a demo before their new full length will see light. “Against Foundation” is out now.

The band is all about the Metal core. Quite a strong riff package in the deal, maybe a bit traditional and a little peaking to other genres here and there as well. Kind of hard to match with these clean vocals, that makes it a bit too soft in combination with the rest of the sound, The more raw moments in the vocals are better to listen to and make it all suiting. A little pity that they did not leave out the clean part at all. Sometimes it works, here not so well.
The band itself is quite in balance having some decent song writing in them, but a little search for originality may have brought a little spice to it all. Just a minor thing cause the band sets it all down on such a level that you will enjoy listening to the demo. For a full cd the band has to bring a little more variation and some original twist here and there, but so far “Against Foundation” will do.
