Dominanz is a Norwegian Industrial Metal band. The band seems fairly young and comes now with their debut full length called: “As I Shine”.
Dominanz is a band that captures the best from different genres to make it their own. A noble thing to do to bring something new to music world. Completely new it’s not, hearing some slight bit of Deathstars in there, but the band remains far away from being a clone. The music is overall quite mainstream and when some femme fills in the background the music comes maybe a bit closer to the gothic than to the aggressive industrial metal. Yet, the band has quite good compositions and listens quite easily. You can imagine that Dominanz is a band you would love to see live. This, because the mix of the synths and the guitars are giving you a perfectly danceable atmosphere and the band can vary quite a bit with how they bring this live.
“As I Shine” is an interesting release that you will listen quite some times, but the guys must be careful to keep their own face upfront. It is recognizable, therefore you might end up in comparing which comes with the danger of missing the face of Dominanz self.
