Ingested is a British Death Metal formation that formed in 2007. The band released their debut album in 2009 and now it is time for their second full length release: “The Surreption”.
Thanks Ingested, for yet another album with this Death Core material that we heard already so many times before. It is clear, “The Surreption” is an album for the quantity of your collection, it will not widen the range of it. The band puts the focus on the technical side of it. An extreme portion of double bass is quite upfront and pushes the rest a bit backwards. A positive point comes from the vocals, it has more diversity than you would expect as the best of different genres is combined. Than besides the sound is not that unique, the songs are al quite alike as well, which makes it not much more exciting than it is. Good, must be said, the guys show their skills on this release but it is lacking a fresh and original view on it. Ingested, do you have a face of you own as well, or keep hiding between the confidential mask of what has been there already? Missed shot for the guys and makes me pissed off to hear the guys play like this, hearing the skills, but with such a boring result.
