Thomas Timothy Vernon-Kell is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist musician who works under the name Tom Vek. He signed to the small label Tummy Touch Records in 2001, having spent the previous eight years writing and recording in his parents’ garage. Vek’s debut album We Have Sound was recorded whilst he completed a graphic design degree. Vek made a guest appearance on the television program, The OC, where he performed a gig at ‘The Bait Shop’ venue; the third season episode ‘The Road Warrior’ featured his track “I Ain’t Saying My Goodbyes”. He also contributed to the Grand Theft Auto IV soundtrack, with “One Horse Race” which was the B-side to his single, “Nothing but Green Lights”.
Now his second album “Leizure Seizure” is released. The new album comes with twelve tracks. Somewhere between indie electro and indie rock Tom Vek balanced his songs. Odd yet interesting the songs catch your ear and your attention, meant to last there for a while. Elements of video games or carnival are included in the arrangements. The album is really funny to listen to and spreads a good mood. It is a great alternative to everything that’s on the radio right now so make sure to check out Tom Vek’s “Leizure Seizure”.
