The Belgian VoidWork had surprised us with the double album “Horror/Forsaken” last year and now they come back with another full length release called “Basement”.
VoidWork brings yet again an ambient album that may be considered a bit strange at first but makes it worth to listen to every second that you hear it. It takes the invest of time. The time you need to get the know the story that is behind but also the time that you need to find your own story with it and above all, the time you need to find the most sophisticated details in the music that won’t step forward right away. Be prepared for an album that demands you to hear it a couple of times before it opens the doors for you. Yet you get access and step into a darker world you might have expected at first. The piano brings tension, a cold part of darkness that makes you shiver and the plenty of sounds overwhelm you with emotions.
Yet again VoidWork made an album that sets you on a trip. If you are into this mysterious almost film music that leaves you with the choice of reading and following their tale as well as the change to figure it out yourself, this album is a must, just as their previous releases.
