Releasedate: 2009

Post Mortem plays some Thrash and Death metal, with a bit of punk combined. “Message From The Dead” came out in 2009 but the band has a history that goes back to 1982.
While Post Mortem never remained quite underground in the 80′s and early 90′s, to go into hiatus for a long time after that. It took until 1993 until the band got reformed and the band was ready to record a new album, but unfortunately the band lost their front man John Mc Carthy on a heart attack. With the help of guest singers the album finished later, so the fans had something to hold on to.
An album with a tragic story and perhaps it may be fair to say it is a tribute that should be respected, but without hearing the actual story behind the album appears a bit messy. Not all songs are leaving a good impression and “Pray Before You Die” is one of those examples of a song that takes too long. When you reach the point of thinking ‘yes, I ‘v e heard it can we go on now’, you know the song is repeating too much of the words and considering that this songs comes quite early on the track list it is quite a break down. The positive points in this album lay more in the heavy riffing, the deep, doom atmosphere that comes with it and the fact that fans will appreciate it much more than anyone who doesn’t know the band at all.
