Francis International Airport is an indie rock band from Austria. The band released their second album “In The Woods” recently.
The band has a dreamy atmosphere in the sound, a bit tropical somehow as they seem to bring you to a wonderful island with bounty beaches and palm trees. Strange reference if you look at the album’s artwork, but it says a lot about how happy the band makes you while they do not even have those typical feel good lyrics.
The band makes a good match, seems like the band has been together for a long time as the instruments are blending so nicely. The longer the album plays the more intense it becomes, but a highlight lies at the song “Bug”. Which seems quite mellow but catches you deeply. Straight after that there is the song “Pipeland” which starts way calmer so you get a few seconds break to process it. Of course the band did not invent a new wheel with this sound, but the way they bring it is quite efficient. Captivating music, good songs, plenty variation and all the potential to be the album you keep listening to through the summer. Keep it coming, Francis International Airport.
