Releasedate: 2009

WildeStarr is a female fronted band making Melodic Metal. They are coming from USA and their debut is called “Arrival”. It got released originally in 2009, but the band seem to have a wider view on the world right now, bringing it to Europe.
From the beginning the band reminded me to the Finnish rock band iRonica, mainly because the vocals of femme London Wilde are quite alike to what you hear in that band. Strong, screaming vocals that bring in a lot of power. Don’t expect a lot of sugar from this lady when it comes to her voice, she brings it hard in raw. Must say it comes out surprisingly well on the album, it may be a bit vulnerable in live situations, but it works in the advance of them for being slightly different than the stereotype. Next to this femme there are guitars and bass both contributed by Dave Starr. He mixes different sorts of styles into his riffs and this brings a varied result. The drummer is Jim Hawthorne, also known from Vicious Rumours which recently released “Razorback Killers”. Obviously, they mention this band as a reference as well. The songs in the album are playful and do not stick at the same template which keeps your attention with it from start until the end. A good debut, but the question is how it stands live.
Line up:
London Wilde – lead/backing vocals and keyboards
Dave Starr – guitars, bass and backing vocals
Jim Hawthorne – drums
