The Foo Fighters is an American alternative rock band originally formed in 1994 by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the dissolution of his previous band. The band got its name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters. The band began with performances in Portland, Oregon before gaining popularity. Now they are amongst the most popular bands and have released various albums – six to be precise.
“Wasting Light” is their seventh and most recent album. An interesting one to say the list. It – of course – contains the typical sound of Foo Fighters yet it differs from the previous album in a way that is hard to describe. Eleven tracks that don’t only catch your attention but burn themselves deep into your memory. You can catch yourself tapping and nodding along to the songs immediately. The guitar seems in the main focus rather than the vocals. But somehow it still sounds perfect. The songs change melodies throughout which makes each song even more interesting. It feels like Foo Fighters are taking you on a journey with “Wasting Light”. Really amazing. It takes a few times listening until you comprehend the entire strength and depth of the album. So jump on it and get “Wasting Light”, the brand new release of the Foo Fighters.
