Vicious Rumor is a Heavy Metal formation that has been around since 1980. The band have gone to various lineup changes through the years. Anno 2011 the band comes with “Razorback Killer” which is the 19th studio full length release of the band.
Vicious Rumors is a band that despite the many years they have been around never really made it to a wide audience. From the original line up only guitarist Geoff Thorpe is in the band and the others are fairly new to the lineup. On this album we hear their new guitarist, bassist and vocalist getting introduced. It must be said that they bring quite solid material. The vocals of Brian Allen are strong and maybe not the most unique, but a strong add to the music. Songs as “Murderball” and “All I want Is You” are showcasing the bands abilities and you wonder why they never really have been able to shine as bright. The album has a lot of diversity and within the deeper songs that are go hand in hand with thrashy side while they have no problems with speeding it all up a little either. It’s a good release and those who have heard the earlier work of this band may buy this one as well. The lineup changes in this album have not broken down any quality, it’s a damn fine album.
