Polarkreis 18 is a German pop band from Dresden, Saxony. The bandmembers met at school where they formed the band Jack of all Trades in 1998. In 2004 they renamed their band Polarkreis 18. The musical style of the band can be described as pop, synthpop and indietronic. Their albums include: Polarkreis 18 and more recently The Colour Of Snow with the single “Allein Allein” (Alone Alone) which scored number one on the German Media Control Top100 Singles from 31 October 2008 to 4 December 2008.
Ten brand new tracks on their new album “Frei”: Polarkreis 18 is back with new everlasting songs, meant to be stuck in your head for eternity. The music is as wide as the horizon, catchy, thoughtful and will definitely get you going along. The lyrics are in German and English. The singer uses his high pitched voice as well as some lower notes. He varies between rough and soft within the songs. The sound and arrangements are simply big. The music will definitely get you going along. I am sure Polarkreis 18 can continue with their success of “Allein Allein” and their previous album “The Color Of Snow”. Enjoy the second album of Polarkreis 18 “Frei”.
