Chris Corner is an English record producer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist, singer and video artist. He was a founding member of the band Sneaker Pimps, and is now active with his solo project IAMX. He moved from London to Berlin in 2006, where he set up his IAMX studio for music and visual work. Nowadays he lives in Los Angeles. IAMX is currently touring. And, as the band page says, it might be a long time until IAMX returns to the European stages.

IAMXTo date, Corner has released nine studio albums, three with Sneaker Pimps – “Becoming X” (1996), “Splinter” (1999) and “Bloodsport” (2002) and six as IAMX – “Kiss and Swallow” (2004), “The Alternative” (2006), “Kingdom of Welcome Addiction” (2009), “Volatile Times” (2011), “The Unified Field” (2013) and “Metanoia” (2015). The latest release was called “Everything Is Burning – Metanoia Addendum”.

Tonight the group around Chris Corner hit the Schlachthof in Wiesbaden. Quite some fans had gathered to see tonights show. There was no opening act for the night. It was IAMX only. Everyone was curious to see today’s performance of IAMX.

IAMXAs IAMX came on stage, the audience was right with them. The dim light and the fog was putting a focus on the three screens the band had set up on stage. The band members were quite hard to see though. Quite a pity, because especially the girls were wearing almost see through body suits that everyone had laid their eyes on.

The band began with their hypnotizing show and their amazing songs. The sound was strong and the audience began dancing along right away. The band did not have to get them hyped up too much. Only with the cheering, the band asked for more volume and more noise.

IAMX played songs off all albums. Old and new songs, fast and slower ones. But each song was meant to sing along to. And everyone sure did. They even sang along. The show was absolutely intense and pulled quite some of the audience under its spell.

The band played for little more than one hour and then came back for an encore of three songs. The show was short but will stay in all of our memories for long.
