Bardus is an American formation that formed back in 2011. The band does not want to tell people what genre they play but let the listener decide. Their new album “Stella Porta” came out on Solar Flare Records, so that may give you some indication.

It’s chaos, it’s stoner, it’s noise, it’s hysteria, it’s heavy, it’s something different and it is all of that together. The band can go full rage, but also knows calmer moments. What has your preference is a personal choice, but the contrast is one of its main things. In these calmer moments you can listen to a melodic wind that highlights the instrumental skills of the band. When they go full rage it are the vocals that take you over, give you that energy, the passion and power that the guys put in there.
Most remarkable track of the album is to be found halfway. “Transcendence” which has a great piece in the middle that summarizes what Bardus is about, a summarize of the album in a way.

“Stella Porta” is an album that shows a band that knows what they want. They give the impression of given it all a good thought and then let the music flow at ease, just as they want it to. Damn they make it look easy, but there is so much to hear in “Stella Porta”.
