The German formation Hyne is based in Hamburg. The band makes Stoner Rock and is currently releasing their third full length album “MMXV”.
Kyuss, Karma to Burn… that’s a bit of what you can expect from these German lads. Stoner with a swing, something sexy that keeps it comfortable to listen to. They take you on a trip but don’t throw you around too much, leaving you with intensity levels that slowly rise but never too sudden change. The groove is on and we are liking it. A little but comes lurking around the corner though: It is not something you have not heard before. Here and there they try to step away a bit from their influences but they never really break loose of it. The question is, does it really matter that much? After all we have had many releases of bands like them and still we are enjoying it. The reason we like this “MMXV” album still is because it has it strength in the quality. It’s well played and they have spent some good time to look at the details.
It is an album that pleasantly plays your day away, you enjoy it quickly and to your surprise it takes a more present place in your collection than you thought at first. Interesting!
