Fluisteraars is a Dutch Black Metal formation that came with a debut album last year. This year they are already coming with a new release, it’s called “Luwte”.
The band brings atmospherical Black Metal, four tracks on this release taking about 44 minutes of your time. It was something to get used to that Dutch language in Black Metal but it did work after all. Those who speak the language suddenly have a more direct understanding of what they are about and that certainly helps getting into the right mindset for them, but also for those who don’t speak the language it won’t be hard to feel the band as they know very well how to build their sound in such a way that you get dragged into it. Tempo’s raging around you, slower faster, fast, slower etc. An interesting playfield that keeps you listening and that even while the songs tend to be long, maybe too long but when you are really hooked into their sound you won’t find it much of an issue. Here and there they could bring the atmosphere perhaps a little colder, but that is mostly personal taste.
“Luwte” is a splendid release that showcases the band well. We are looking forward to see the band somewhere in a club in the upcoming season.
