Punk Trio Colt 45 is sending us the album “The Tide Is Turning”. It has been released over a year ago but since the band is now ready to go further into Europe the British are reaching out to us.

The album is full of catchy songs that are guitar driven and often quite atmospheric. With the vocals in their sound they manage to reach a deep intensity level which could work out really great in a live situation. Going through the tracklist though you may come to the conclusion that some songs have too much alike. All coming from the same template, the same vocal tricks. Here and there it could even be a bit whining at some point. Variation is key and that is lacking a bit.

Yet there is plenty of hope for the band as they have a good feeling of what makes people get along with their songs. If they elaborate more on this they could reach into a wider range of songs that keeps your attention with the music a little bit longer. After the whole album is listened you want to remember those that have single potential, but if all is too much alike there is just nothing that stands out any more.
