Dieversity – Re/Awakening

Melodic Metal formation Dieversity is a band that released their debut album in 2012. Anno 2015 they come with “Re/Awakening”.

It is a bit unfortunate planning for the bands as they have a sound similar to Soilwork. Releasing an album that close to Soilwork’s album, which scored big time, is perhaps quite a challenge. The reference is so obvious that we are sure the band heard it many times before. Then we are still having the Soilwork one in mind, we get this release. It is unfortunate for them as they do not have that same experience and skills yet. They are releasing a decent album though. The band has not to worry about how to deliver their sound, but it just does not stand on it is own. And therefore the guys are falling behind at their reference. Not coming close enough in skills to deliver the same quality, but certainly ambitious to come close. Then as the ultimate statement, they have even invited Björn Strid to a guest appearance. Well what can we say? Björn has his backup band ready in case anyone wants to quit.

For the fans it may be nice, a bit more of what they like but are they going to settle for this or are they going to demand that Dieversity becomes Dieversity and not Soilwork 2? We rest our case.
