Mother Empire is formation from Denmark. The guys play Dark Melodic Rock and just released their album “The System”.
The band is inspired by the 80’s music such as Depeche Mode, but also some bands of nowadays are having their impact on them. Personally they reminded me to The Editors, a reference they could be proud of. With the right dose drama the guys build their songs. Melancholica is brought in by the subtle use if the guitars when the vocals are the main spotlight. I may seem a bit filling up instrumentally but its function goes beyond that, building towards the moments where they can break out and give the listener a greater exhibition of their skills. As the band play their songs they have a certain catchiness on them. It’s not like you are singing along right away, no it is such a beautiful one to just listen, but nevertheless the songs stick in mind. The lyrics are giving you some substance as well, not just empty words but a story to tell.
Mother Empire is a band that created a gorgeous release that is right on time to claim the space available now the autumn falls in, gloomy days make their entrance. Many couch minutes, warm tea while in company of “The System” are ahead of you. Enjoy it.
