Germany has a band called Nightslug and they are making Sludge metal. The guys formed in 2011 and soon some demo’s saw light. This year they are releasing their second full length called “Loathe”.

The guys are presenting you with a mean edge from the beginning. Thick layers of anger and frustration will rain down upon you while listening to this release. It has the energy and passion to make you live with them right through it. The band has a bit of punk/hardcore background after all, so no wonder the guys make this come across flawlessly.
Bass is rolling over you, giving it that strong basis for the rest to build on and when aggressive vocals come over that they are letting you know that it is serious. But the guys also have some vicious riffs in the pocket to give it more dimension. Strongest they are in the songs “Under A Bane” and “The Thrill Is Gone: Repulsion” in which they have the tensions flowing around you.

“Loathe” is an album that comes with a thick and heavy sound, a sound that suits the guys well as they show that the combination of that punk and hardcore go hand in hand with the sludge side of them.
