Callidice – Scarlet

Finnish melodic death / metal core band Callidice’s new album Scarlet has been released on August 21, 2016. The band was formed in the winter of 2014 and since then they have been creating very tasty sounds for metal listeners.

Scarlet includes 5 songs which they make me think like each of them have some connection to one another. As I listened the songs, I feel delighted with the coherent connection of rhythmic riffs of metalcore and melodic death metal’s heavy, soft and catchy melodies. And the reason I wanted to write this album’s review was the song, which is also the name of the album and the first EP ,Scarlet. I can say that it’s my favourite song among these 5 songs. I do not know if it was the intention of band, however, with this song I felt more emotions, melodies and perfect riffs that made me want to listen the song over and over again. Also another thing which can be said about the song Scarlet is that personally I find the beginning of the song kind of similar to Insomnium’s While We Sleep which is also one of my favourite songs.

While I am writing this review right now, I am changing the track list mostly between Scarlet and Beast In Me.  In Beast In Me’s lyrics, I find the combination of Finnish language and English very interesting because with the support of the melodies of North, it creates a very different ambience.

I believe I can finish this review by listening the song Scarlet and hoping they will create more catchy melodies and riffs soon again! And you click here to watch Scarlet’s video clip.
