Emerald Sun is a Metal band from Greece. The guys formed already in 1998 but it took them some time come with a debut album. Then their last release was already dated back to 2011 until recently when their fourth album called “Metal Dome” came to the market.
The Power Metal formation brings you right into the mood for it. Must be said, don’t expect a revolutionary sound, but simply a good Power Metal act that lays out the cards right away. Here and there the guys like to put the glam up there, catchy songs with a lot of shine and polishing but never lacking the power and strength that you may expect.
Where the band does surprise is the duet the band have recorded with Liv Kristine. They close with it and shows a more mellow side of them. The vocals blend together well and so come “Call of Nature” is a song that works very well for the band even though it is much different from the rest of what can be found on the release.
Altogether “Metal Dome” is a nice release. The quality is good enough for the band to stand out a little over the giant stream, but don’t expect a too experimental release.
