Curse of The Forgotten is a band from The Netherlands making Thrash/Death Metal. They released the EP “Sacrifice” in 2010 and is now releasing a full length album called “Building The Palace”.
The band makes Death combined with some Thrash elements. This release follows three years after the previous one and shows that the band has grown a lot. Their sound is more demanding in the way that you have to listen to it and it will not float into a background sound. The vocal side is more vehemence, sharper and way more upfront. A definite improvement for the band as their sound has way more body now. That also counts for the rest of the guys. Riffs are more surprising here and there, more exciting to listen to and the whole song writing is improved. Here and there it seems now a little wild, but it being mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) gives the indication it is tamed when needed.
“Building The Palace” is an absolute fine release for these Dutch guys. It has a strong body and shows a great improvement which sets you up with the point you should keep an eye on them. Perhaps soon to be seen live?!
