Charing Cross is formation from Switzerland which makes Heavy Metal. The band releases their second full length album called “Sinspiration” right now.
The band starts off with “Miracle Man” which does not immediately gives away all the band is up to, but let you get an introduction of mainly the vocals that translates to the melodic refrains. The tracks that follow make it clear that the band has a structure in which they start quite calm. The tempo does not really step up. The track “Alone” is the first that stands out as it is softer and has a more tension building intro. Surely a track that makes you want to listen them more. However, the band is lacking a bit in having that killer track on the album that speaks for them and may be seen as an anthem. It flows and flows, but where is the guitar solo, the break out you are waiting for, the track that gives the sparkles and makes the album all exciting.
No, the whole is now a bit too plain and that is such a pity as the band seem to have the qualities on board which show off in the individual moments but just are not taken into the a highlight altogether. Something to work on and then this band may have an album that marks them definite on the map.
