Revolving Door – Milk & Honey

Releasedate: 26-10-2012; Label: Fastball Music
By: Sabine van Gameren

Alternative Rock formation Revolving Door is coming from Germany. The band released their debut album in 2010 and returns this year with a new full length release called: “Milk & Honey”.

Revolving Door is a band that takes control over their own fate by stepping up and organize their own opportunities. More and more bands go that way and nothing comes easily. That’s what this is all about, music that is taken from life as it is. Good, maybe the band does not really bring something new, mainstream music is mainstream for a reason: many like it. The songs are written a bit simplistic here and there, the words and structures are predictable, maybe it does not help them either that the vocals are not bringing too much depth into it all. In tracks where some warmth and desire is added the band seem to come out best. “Marilyn” one of the examples that shows that the band is up for something, but just need to be a bit more critic on how the music will end up and maybe try to experiment a bit more to get the maximum out of themselves. Nevertheless the album is easy to listen to and has some catchiness, which makes that this one is still up for some spins.
