The Finnish formation Seremonia makes Psychedellic Rock. Their self-titled album is out now.
Seremonia seem to be one of those underground formations, playing everywhere but the fancy clubs and have the one rule that it have to remain into that old school rock style. Take that in every way you can think of. Old school productions, terrible vocals, all instruments on repeat and repeat . Don’t expect some innovative sound, it is all quite basic brought. In psychedelic rock there have been much more interesting releases when it comes to that. Lyrically, you must know that they are all in Finnish. Not much to win here for the non-Finnish speaker. The more positive points of this music are found in the atmosphere the band brings to you. It’s creepy, depressive and seem to be devilish. Basically you get the feeling that you don’t really want to listen to the album at all, but rather see the band live where you get this all coming at you factor X times stronger. For an album this may not have been the effect you want at all, but it will probably work in the way that people buy this disc on the gig while they saw the live impact rather than people find this record and then decide to check them out on stage.
