I AM I is a Heavy Rock/ Metal band featuring ZP Theart, Phil Martini, Jacob Ziemba and Neil Salmon. ZP Theart is known best for being the lead singer for power metal band Dragonforce prior to leaving the band in 2010. Now with his new formed band he releases “Event Horizon”.

Obviously some experienced musicians have been gathered for the project and while that is not just a guarantee for an instant success it seems like I Am I is a band that highlights mainly the strongest points of all musicians. And let this all unite very well, lucky as we are. Musically you are not geeting a new version of Dragonforce, but the Power Metal blends in perfectly with those 80’s influences. Heavy Metal, AOR more into that direction. Great solo’s giving you a showcase of the skills of mr Ziemba, remarkable as it is. As positive as it all must sound, the little remark on it all is that most of it has been done before and that they do not really bring something new is not much of a problem when having good skills in the house, but you clearly notice they are still a bit searching for their identity as a band and that may be a bit more distraction. Furthermore, the release is well done, above average for sure. The band will develop further and then we get to see a whole new face up on the next record, we are convinced about that.
