The Foreshadowing – Second World

Releasedate: 20-04-2012; Label: Cyclone Empire
By: Sabine van Gameren

Italian Doom formation The Foreshadowing started back in 2005. In 2007 the band came with their debut album that placed the band on the map. Anno 2012 the band is ready to release their third full length album called “Second World”.

Just as the previous albums “Second World” has a lot of dark, melancholic doom sounds. A nice place in their sound is there for the keys, that bring so much atmosphere. Then next you’ll find yourself puzzled about the guitars and their space within it all, somehow heavier than expected and then yet hold back on other places. A bit more varied than before. Soon you start to realize this album is one that needs to grow on you. It captures you at the first time, but the true beauty comes when listening it a couple of times and go into the depth of it all. Songs like “ Ground Zero” or “Second World” have a catchy edge, those that make you remember the album straight away while a song like “Outcast” is one that you comes a little more tough and mean.
Above all you recognize the beauty of The Foreshadowing’s typical sound within this album once again, progressed, once again topping themselves. Ten diamonds, shiny into the darkness, doom and melancholic atmospheres as result.
Overall, other bands may be happy that we have more than one cd player at Tempelores Mag headquarters as this album is stuck in it and it doesn’t seem like this album will come out any time soon!
