Mad Max is a German Hard Rock formation. They started in 1981 and got ready for their big breakthrough in 1987. At that time it did not happen and the band disbanded in 1989. About ten years later they decided to go on and an album got out. After that it took them another 7 years to come with a next release, but since that year quite some new releases have seen light since. Anno 2012 they come with the album “Another Night of Passion”.
Still wondering about them being German? Yes me too, they have that typical American touch to their sound and the album that opens with the track “Rocklahoma” will only highlight that. It’s cheesy, it’s catchy and gives you that true 80’s feeling straight away. If you expect something new here, skip it right away, you won’t find an innovative part on it. This album wins purely on the fact that it is 100% nostalgia. Songs like “ Welcome To Rock Bottom”, “The Chant” and “Fever of Love” are simply stuck in mind and you’ll find yourself humming along soon. The Germans clearly have their musical heart back in time and stay true to that. Guaranteed success.
