The Finnish Sadistik Forest was created in 2007. With the Death Metal they make they manage to fill a debut album in 2010 and anno 2012 a second full length sees light. “Death, Doom, Radiation” is out now.
Thick, strong Death Metal, instrumentally quite filled from the start. They have strong riffs, typical old school and perhaps not there to shine all the time, but there to bring in the image. The image of a band that is there to impress you with their metal and not too much show around it. Drums are a bit back in the mix often it is the raspy, edged voice of Markus Makkonen that grabs the attention of it all. The solos in here are bringing it a bit more back to the instrumentals so it is not just a one man show. The tempo is in it and the band shows of some good compositions. Maybe not the newest thing around, but the band is making it real. It is a statement of themselves, this release and you quite get what they are standing for. Death Metal with attitude, as it should be. “Death, Doom, Radiation” is one with body, totally worth it.
