Solitude is a Japanese Heavy-Metal formation, influenced by NWOBHM-bands like Saxon and Iron Maiden. “Brave The Storm” is their second album, the follow-up to 2001’s “Virtual Image”.
Solitude brings a slightly different variance of heavy Metal, mainly because of them being Japanese. You can hear that in their music and vocals especially. Kind of refreshing, the vocals are a bit lower than you might have expected at first. The drums may be a bit basic at first, giving space to the guitars that set quite an entertaining part down for you. Tension building riffs and then after they set you all up for the vocals you get that vocals back in and giving you a solid feeling. They band must just be careful that they remain from the most cheesy parts and keep refreshing with their sound. After a while some of these riffs become a bit predictable and that is where the guys must be careful for, to not let your attention for it flow away by letting it last too long before something new comes in.
Furthermore “Brave The Storm” is a fine release that shows a band with qualities and a big heart for Heavy Metal. With a slightly more innovation the band may get far!
