Lost In Desire – Reborn From The Ashes

Lost In Desire is the solo project of Stephan Sutor, an Austrian-American musician. The band brings a combination of Alternative, Wave and Gothic Rock and has released their latest album “Reborn From The Ashes” last October.

“Reborn From The Ashes“ is actually a new version of Lost in Desire’s homonymous album, released in 2010. Though the albums feature the same tracks, we do find some differences between the two. The experimentalism that gave the first release quite some variety to the songs, is now replaced by an overall techno sound that makes them all come together under it. Indeed, while the first release was entirely performed by Stephan Sutor, “Reborn From The Ashes” is more of a group work, where the sound that drifts through the air is the result of the remixes that some well-known bands have done to the songs. All of them undergo quite a change in the remix process and that very change cannot be unheeded in the innovation that it brings to the whole atmosphere. However, that might not be caught at its best if the original songs are not listened first.
The drift of sound Lost in Desire have taken with this release is probably the hint of a new start, where “Reborn From Ashes” plays just the role of a reborn, of some sort of transition album. Now that the curiosity is set, there is nothing left to do but wait for the next release, while of course enjoying this one.
