The Last Cry is a Gothic/Wave trio from UK. The band formed long time ago and the release “Walking To The Edge” came out in 2009. Right now the band is bringing to a wider audience via the label Echozone.
The Last Cry comes with an album that is pleasant to listen to, first the vocals are not too sharp. They are dark, depressive but there is still some warm edge on it which makes it pleasant. The music is slow, but yet heaving some intense moments, so it is good in balance with the vocals. Maybe a point of Depeche Mode sounds too obvious to mention, but this may give you a good idea of what to expect. With songs as “Rebekka” and “Walking To The Edge” the band surely has some emotional and intense tracks that get you both in a different way, but are giving such a stereotypical ‘The Last Cry’ idea.
“Walking To The Edge” is a nice album and it is good that a label as Echozone recognizes it and gave it a further spread. It is exactly what it deserves and makes you curious of what the band has to offer besides this release.
