“Until I Feel Nothing” is the fourth full-length album by American Deathcore band Carnifex.
A strong, deep growl combined with screaming vocals that what Carniflex highlights themselves with. This combined with loads of guitar violence, which unfortunately do no impress that much. More than once you hear the band breaking away from the stereotypical sound, but fail to come with something that is original. Find the best of other bands and fit it together. After releasing a bunch of album the listener expects a little more Carniflex than what they got. Technically the band show they have the skills, a good production over the album suits them quite well, but maybe a little more creativity next time. The Death Metal side of the band comes out best, leaving us with that core part that may be interrupted with the melodic parts coming more upfront, but not succeeding in having the most impressive material.
“Until I Feel Nothing” is an album that has strong sides, the band show they can play especially in these solo’s but does not really bring something new. And when you are constantly thinking of other bands while they are playing, you know something more could have been made out of it.
