Oranssi Pazuzu is a Psychedelic Black Metal formation from Finland. The band got created in 2007 and releases their second full length album “Kosmonument” right now.

Oranssi Pazuzu is a band we run into at Tuska festival often. They use different sort of influences in their music, having the Black Metal on the most upfront hand. Yet this can’t be seen without the Psychedelic side of them. A great thing as this creates a unique face which is very welcome. Lyrics of the songs are all in Finnish, but without those it is also a pleasure to listen to the album as the band fills up their music with interesting riffs and surprising parts. They are simply playing around with what they have and it works out well. The songs are all quite long and the darkness within it brings a bit more doom to the atmosphere. While there are slow sludgy passages the band teases your desire and when the tempo goes up a little you feel yourself content with what they give you, waiting for more to come. Climax building is what they do very well, but perhaps this does not make it all very accessible. Interesting release for Black Metal fans. Think Nachtmystum, maybe Blut Aus Nord with an own face.
