Dark Captain – Dead Legs and Alibis

Releasedate: 24-10-2011; Label: v2
By: Sabine van Gameren

Dark Captain is a rock formation from London, UK. The band currently comes with the release of their album “Dead Legs and Alibis” which is their second full length release.

Dark romantic tunes, a scent of joy versus a scent of depression. Melancholy is all over it but what it does to your mood depends highly on what you allow your brains. Let them travel to the darkest parts of life motivated by the stormy autumn weather or rather visit warmer places where you slowly get into adventures you could not even imagine at first. Dark Captain gives your mind flexibility and let your imagination gain some space. Accompanied with some down tuned guitars and electronic surprises the band sets up a dream world. Vocals are so melancholic and friendly. Surely a strong release for the British guys. What wins people easily is that there is a certain thing in there that keeps coming back, if it is in an individual track or throughout the whole record, it quickly makes you feel confidential with their sound and since they built plenty of other things around it, you never get irritated by it. All the songs fit perfectly in line, not one that sticks out most, but it feels like the album tells you a story, the one that is in your mind.
