Issa is a girl from Oslo, Norway. She makes Melodic Rock and released her debut album “Sign of Angels” last year. Now she is back with a second album. “The Storm” is out now.
We got to know Issa for het catchy songs accompanied with some strong melodic guitars. She took that in advance in this level, the catchiness. This results in songs that may be more like Pop music with a melodic rock twist to it. Obviously more commercial that the debut was, but perhaps that is not such a bad thing after all as the music that comes out certainly suits her voice and who knows if she can build a bridge for the many young music fans towards other melodic rock formations. What captures your attention right next to the voice of Issa herself are the keyboards which really lead you into a song. Right from the start with “Looking For Love” but throughout the whole record. Twelve songs on this release which are all in line, having the same power and strength. An album that listens easily and keeps you interested to the end, but you realize that the album should not have been much longer. A good release, but if it equals her debut is to debate about.
