Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. After recording private albums, the band released their first full-length album “Fallen” on Wind-up Records in 2003. “Fallen” sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards. A year later, Evanescence released their first live album, “Anywhere but Home”, which sold more than one million copies worldwide. In 2006, the band released their second studio album, “The Open Door”, which sold more than six million copies.
Now, five years later, Evanescence released their third studio album, selftitled. Twelve tracks are on the new album. Some of these tracks are quite poppy, especially the first song “What You Want” is quite unusual for Evanescence in a way. Amy does not sing that high as much as she used to on the previous albums. The songs are faster and catchier, easy to get stuck in your head. The selftitled release “Evanescence” is a great rock album with amazing music. In these past five years Evanescence have grown as a band and as people, and they present it to the world with this album. The ballads on this album are “Lost In Paradise” and “Swimming Home”. Enjoy the new album by Evanescence. Out now.
