Sonne Adam – Transformation

Releasedate: April 2011; Label: Century Media
By: Sabine van Gameren

Sonne Adam from Israël got their debut album out. “Transformation” it is called and it is old school Death Metal.

Israël is not the most “metal” country, but this band seem to quite well considering that their very first full length is on Century Media. When the album starts, you can actually hear why the guys do so well cause the album is quite convincing from the beginning. Death, deep and full of passion comes out of the speakers. Dominating drums, slow yet, deep dark and evil guitars and vocals. Sure some doom elements are involved as well. Sure, the band does not really bring anything new, but it all comes with a surprising quality. Here and there some influences of bands like Morbid Angel are unavoidably to notice. Good, leaves the fans of this genre up with some newbies that have the potential to make an impact in a short time. A little remark to make may be on the production, it could have been a bit more modern even though they clearly chose the old school style all over their sound. Only a little remark I said, so let’s see what these guys make in future and hopefully they are live as convincing as they are with this release.
