The Anix – Sleepwalker

Releasedate: 09-09-2011; Label: Cleopatra Records / H’ART
By: Nina Mende

Drawing influences from The Police, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Queen and Rush, the Anix mingles elements of grungy electronics and hard hitting alternative rock to blur the edges of musical boundaries as we are accustomed to them. The Anix has toured extensively throughout the United States and recently returned from a month-long tour of Germany in support of veteran electronic rock band Apoptygma Berzerk.

Now their second album “Sleepwalker” is being released. The release comes with two CDs; the second one is a remix album including the The Cure cover “Burn”. On the main CD you can also find a cover song. Lost Boys’ “Cry Little Sister” revives on the new The Anix album “Sleepwalker”. All other eleven tracks are written by The Anix. “Sleepwalker” is a “blooming” album. With every time listening to it, “Sleepwalker” reveals something new to you. A beautiful feature only a hand full of releases these days include. The Anix created catchy songs that sneak themselves into your mind to get stuck. All the sudden you find yourself singing a song in your head without ever having noticed that you find this song catchy enough to pop up like that. “Sleepwalker” is a very interesting album. I can’t wait to see this one being performed live. Go get “Sleepwalker” now.
