Xorigin is a Melodic Rock formation from USA. They formed in 1999, but the founding members are actually from Norway and Sweden. They found some other musicians to join and then kept on with the project, ready to release their debut album in 2011. It’s called “State of Art” and is out now.
Melodic is all over these guys, having an album of catchy songs. On the vocal side there is a voice that is quite clear, but remained from sounding too polished although they came close to that edge of what would be the point where it gets too shiny. The keys that are in the music have a great add into the sound making it all a bit more dreamy. Add this with some decent guitars that are often a bit heavier than expected, but do not break the mellow sound of the guys too much. They are not that upfront at all, but fill in the sound quite well. Overall the album is a fine one, it may be is not the most exciting or renewing one released at this point but the guys have a strong basis in their sound and pretty much know what they want. This results in a track list that keeps you interested for some spins at least.
