Bringers of Disease is a project brought by members of several known bands like Mouth of The Architect and Acheron. As a formation the band is quite young, being formed in 2008. Anno 2011 they decided to release some material in the form of the EP “Gospel of Pestilence”.
The band makes Black Metal, with strong and deep vocals rather than the screeching voice that is there also, but not always has the overhand. Loads of bass is dominating making a short reference to the post metal that it is slightly combined with. The band has quite some tempo in their sound, but also likes to step back and bring a little variation in it. The thick sound often makes it come quite heavy on your plate and shows the band clearly put some extra stress on their whole existence. The EP is a bit short because the band brings you right into their flow and after four tracks it feels a bit empty to just go on to something else.
“Gospel of Pestilence” gives good hope for what is coming up though. The band may soon come with a longer release and surprise us with the same quality of Black Metal as this disc is.
