Hey! Alaska is a British formation that makes a poppy version of Hardcore Metal. Their 5 track EP called “We Are Your Saviours” is out now.
It seems quite happy music, but a little emo side is on the band as well, wondering how much you have to take the lyrics very serious, brings you soon to the point that it may be wiser to ignore these first and focus on what else is there. Take the guitars, which seem to come straight up to the vocals in the mix and have just as an important factor here in making it as catchy as it is. Drums are further behind as well as the bass, but not totally out of it. Okfairly said the band is not making the most original music and does not hit the top of the list in their genre yet either, but it has the potential to grow. The vocals are quite well dosed so it is mainly the lyrical part that does not appeal. Good, the band is young and still working on their debut full length so they have some time left to figure out what their own identity will be and what will make them rise above all the others in the scene. Let’s follow these guys and see what they will bring in future.
