Samavayo is a German band founded in 2000 in Berlin. The music of Samavayo is inspired by rock legend of the 70s and 90s. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, old Scorpions, as well as Foo Fighters or Queens of the Stoneage. Two of their released music videos were even played on MTV. This is their third full length studio album called “Cosmic Knockout”, they have also released four EPs.
You can strongly hear the influence on the new album. “Cosmic Knockout” comes with sixteen tracks. The music on the new Samavayo album is very catchy. Especially the first song “Cosmic Storm” has a strong 70s and 80s touch. Samavayo created simple music in terms of riffs and song patterns but still added some magic to it. The songs are all very thriving. Samavayo is hard to be put into one genre but can mainly be considered indie music. The main focus of Samavayo on “Cosmic Knockout” seems to be the guitar riffs rather than the vocals, the vocals are sung very harmonic and soft. Somehow this album is funky, just like the cover. Samavayo makes music that you don’t get to hear too often, so make sure to check out their latest album “Cosmic Knockout”.
