Yuck is an alternative rock band, founded in 2009, that originated from London, England. The band features members Daniel Blumberg and Max Bloom, both of which formerly played in the band Cajun Dance Party. They have now released their self titled debut album “Yuck”.
The band and album name does definitely not describe the content. Twelve songs filled with catchy indie music the band collected for this self titled release. The album is split into two parts: a faster part and a slower and mellow part. Both combined creates a nice balance, somehow almost like yin and yang. All in all this Yuck release is quite relaxing, and not yuck at all. The vocals sound like a radio voice with the static that you can hear in the voice. Yuck is taking your thoughts on a journey, a journey far away from all your troubles. The cover looks like it was drawn by a whack-o, but it still is somehow fascinating. Lyrics and music are both very down to earth and taken out of everyday life, and with that touching every soul. Yuck has released a brilliant self titled debut album called “Yuck”. Make sure to check it out!
