Label: Self release Releasedate: 2020
Inhumanity Vortex is a Death Metal band that was previously known as Inhumanity, a band that has been active from 2009 on with a few demo’s seeing light. Now, under this name, an EP is coming out, a bit more of start for them. The EP is called “Reverse Engineering” and is available now.
“Reverse Engineering” as a title sounds like the band is trying to reinvent themselves a bit. We havent heard their previous demo’s so we can’t say anything about that, but it is clear the guys have looked a bit beyond the standards of the genre. A track like “Cybermod”, which they have released as a single, is leading you into a world of brutality. They are taking a technical approach, these guitars are all over the place and yet not overwhelming. They are having effects in place to enlighten the atmosphere but they serve their purpose, its not a Death Metal Fairy concept at all. Good to see that despite all that they never give in on vehemence.
If you thought that with “Cybermod” you got a feel of what is ahead of you, then brace yourself for the rest. The cyber never leaves, but rather intensifies. Progressing towards the end where the whole comes to climax.
Inhumanity Vortex has made an EP that is conceptual and a bit strange. But just because it difference from the stereoptype doesnt automatically makes it a great album. For that you need to bring it with proper quality and this is what they have done very well. They have given this release some good though in the writing process and they surprised us with the outcome. One to watch!
