The history of Seattle-based Supersuckers started in 1988 and since then the band made 12 albums. “Play That Rock N’ Roll”, the 13th record, is out now.
The history of rock n’ roll started in the mid of 1950s and since then hundreds of persons and bands tried all the parts of this genre. What kind of “that” rock n’ roll does Supersuckers play play? The original one exactly. If you wanna hear sliding riffs and weeping guitars you’re on the right way. The starter “Ain’t gonna stop (until I stop it)” cries out the sirens and then kicks out the jams. Perhaps, “Play That Rock N‘ Roll” must be the headliner with stylized performance and applauses in the end. The reason is, the real rock n’ roll bases on the stage with audience in front of it. “Bringing It Back”, doubled the effect, is dynamic, raw and provocative. Actually, the main touching moment is itching music like in “Die alone”, the track scratching you inside with both melody and lyrics.
Doesn’t matter how long the way of rock n’ roll is, we’d remember what true rock n’ roll was. Supersuckers remind it all the time. Highly recommended.
