Rain Diary was founded in 2007. The year later the band released their self-titled EP that became quickly a collectors item. ‘A Song of Mellow Weep’ got 4th highest votes at YleX Himotuimmat (most wanted) chart of 2008. The band also started their flourishing collaboration with the director Juha Lankinen (Cheek, Jonna Tervomaa etc.) who shot a music video for ‘It’s Only Rain’.
Now these guys have a brand new album out. It is called “Black Weddings” and comes with eleven songs. Every song is telling a story, painting a picture in your mind, which makes it hard for you to not be touched by this album. The music itself varies between soft and touchy sounds and a little bit more intense rock music that will get you going along instantly. “Black Weddings” is telling a story as a whole with the arrangements, and the lyrics tell stories song per song. The vocals are impressive, so are the instrumentals. This is an album to sink into fully. The melodies are catchy and will get stuck in your head instantly. This is an album that will last on your playlist for quite a while.
So let Rain Diary take your mind wandering with “Black Weddings” and listen to their album over and over again.
