Sooma is a grunge / noise rock band from Zurich, Switzerland. Founded in 2014, they have played a lot of shows in Switzerland and Europe. This is their brand new, self titled and self released album “Sooma!. Be prepared!
Sooma put ten songs on their self titled album. Each and every one of them is loud and edgy. The distorted guitars remind of the 90s grunge scene, so do the vocals. Because this is pretty much where their music fits in best and where the band wants it to fit in. And the arrangements do not fit into any other genre, so well done on this part. The edgy music will stay present as it is hard for it to fade in with the background. But this is not music for the background but instead to stay present, so you can nod and move along to it. This is music you need to listen to loudly and have the tones enter every pore of your body.
Who ever thought grunge is dead: Here is the proof that it is not. The self titled released by Sooma is pure grunge. As pure as it can be, at least. Loud and noisy tunes will warm your little grunge heart and revive some memories. So go ahead and listen to it now.
