Are you in need of an alternative Christmas album? One that is not as cheesy but a little dark instead? Then get Tarja’s new album “From Spirits And Ghosts”.
Tarja is a Finnish singer-songwriter. She is a soprano and has a vocal range of three octaves. Turunen studied singing at Sibelius Academy and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. She is a professional classical singer and the former lead vocalist of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, which she founded with Tuomas Holopainen and Emppu Vuorinen in 1996. Their combination of hard and fast guitar riffs with Turunen’s dramatic, “operatic” lead vocals quickly achieved critical and commercial popularity. Their symphonic metal style, soon dubbed “opera metal”, inspired many other metal bands and performers.
The Christmas album “From Spirits And Ghosts” comes with twelve songs. The songs are Christmas songs from all over the world. But in a very unique interpretation. A darker one. Tarja combines the Holiday spirit with a touch of gothic. Beautifully arranged. Perfect for your kind of Christmas. This is an album you can listen to over and over again. It will spark your dark holiday spirit instead of causing you to roll your eyes over the common songs we hear on the radio these days.
So light your black candles and listen to these amazingly rearranged twelve songs for Christmas. “From Spirits And Ghosts” is out now.
